Stephen Vault is Vice President of Strategic Community Development & Corporate Social Responsibility for Wellstar Health System, where he leads community affairs and outreach efforts and manages strategic partnerships for the largest health system in the state of Georgia. Stephen previously served as Vice President of Business Development and Strategy for the system. Prior to joining Wellstar, Stephen was Director of Planning & Business Development at historic Grady Health System in Atlanta, GA.
Currently the Immediate Past President of 100 Black Men of North Metro Atlanta, Inc., Stephen became one of the youngest 100 Black Men of America, Inc. chapter presidents when he took office in 2017. Stephen combines his passion for mentoring young African-American males with true civic engagement that allows for a holistic approach to preparing the future generation for excellence. Other non-profit board seats include co-chair of Whitefoord, Inc., where education and healthcare intersect to provide comprehensive wellness and dental care to the community through clinics co-located in public school facilities, and the American Cancer Society – Georgia, where the mission is to free the world from cancer, and until then help you live longer and better. Stephen also serves on the Next Generation Advisory Board for Citizens Trust Bank, one of the nation’s oldest and largest minority-owned financial institutions, and was named to both the Board of Governors for Georgia Chamber of Commerce and the Board of Directors for SelectCobb, economic development arm of the Cobb Chamber, where he will serve as chairman in 2021.
Stephen is an active member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), Georgia Association of Healthcare Executives (GAHE), National Association of Health Services Executives (NAHSE) and is a life-member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Stephen is a 2013 initiate of both Outstanding Atlanta and New Leaders Council, a Becker’s 25 Healthcare Leaders Under 40 awardee (2014), graduate of Leadership Atlanta (2015), graduate of Leadership Georgia (2016), and the 2017 Hyatt Herald Award winner for outstanding community service. Stephen has been recognized by the Atlanta Business Chronicle, Georgia Trend, and The Network Journal as a 40 Under 40 Award winner.
Stephen earned his Bachelors of Business Administration in Management and Masters in Health Administration from the University of Arkansas before completing the Ph.D. Program requirements in Strategic Management at the University of Alabama.
