Dr. Edward Brown

Candidate for South Central District Representative

Interim President 100 Black Men of Greater Montgomery Area, Inc., Interim Assistant Provost, Dean of Graduate Studies, and Director of the Division of Continuing Education at The Alabama State University. Dr. Brown, known to many as the Cornel, is a retired Air Force Commander, a current Professor of Business and Education. He is the owner of E & X Enterprise, LLC., a for-profit consulting firm and the founder of Strong Families Impact (SFI), a non-profit organization dedicated to building individuals, families, and companies from within. He is a master instructor and consultant qualified to train and educate at all levels. He has held national and local positions within the 100 Black Men organization. Has been an appointed member of the National Board, and elected President, Secretary, and Four For The Future Advisor, of the local chapter as well as Executive Director of the 100 Black Men of Greater Montgomery and Chief Executive Officer for the Montgomery National CARES Mentoring Movement. Trains and evaluates organizations on diversity, ethics, and organizational behavior. He is the primary Research Investigator and Evaluator for the James W. Wright Leadership Training Institute. The Director of Research and principal researcher for the National Leadership Consortium, affiliated with profit and non-profit organizations that support youth and family development. He is a past member and advisor of Phi Beta Lambda, current member, and advisor of Delta Mu Delta business honor society. Student Advisor and Mentor for the campus Collegiate 100 organization, a former 100 Black Men of America Mentor of the Year recipient, top Education Award recipient, and Regional and International Teaching Excellence Awards, as well as a recipient of the Knight Leadership Award. He is an outstanding speaker conducting speaking engagements in International, National, and local arenas. He is the owner of several publications on education, management, and mentoring. Hobbies are reading, writing, speaking, and enjoying 44 years of marriage, four professional children, and twelve outstanding grandchildren. Dr. Brown has been a member of the 100 Black Men of America since 2001 and is one of the first 100 lifetime members.
